LinHaiXueYuan and Qu Bo

   I watched the movie LinHaiXueYuan this noon on my ThinkPad. I could still remember the last time when I tried to watch it was about twenty years ago! It was supposed to show in the morning during one summer break. I want to watch it at my classmate's home. But father didn't suggest me to go. He told me I should do the more important thing (I forgot what the thing at that time right now) other than watching TV. I can still remember that I was not very satisfied about that and confused about if I can have chance to watch that movie again as he said "later". Now, who can imagine that a word "later" equals to 20 years!

    Actually this morning I still should have lots of things to do. However, at that point, watch this movie seemed more important than the other things, especially when I saw it began snowing outside. I need the spirit of fighting in the snow and wood just as described in the LinHaiXueYuan. I also need the courage of Yang Zirong who got deep into the enemy's headquarter using his wise. So, with an exciting mood, I watched the movie carefully.

    After that, I searched on the website and find it's author - Qu Bo. Then, I know that he has only 6 years' of education of elementary school. And he was the commander during the battle of WeiHu shan. I was also delighted to know that he was the Shao Jianbo in the movie in most of the situations. What impressed me most was the motivation of his writing about this novel.

    He had tried once but gave up after three months due to his lack of high education. However, when he came to his home sometime later during a snowy winter, he saw his daughter and wife slept sweat in the bed when he got home, he couldn't help recalling back several years ago, also at the Dongbei, his comrades Yang Zirong and Gao Bo etc fighting with the enemy in the Weihu Shan. It was a pity that both Yang and Qu sacrificed during later battle and they couldn't have the chance to enjoy the peaceful life of new China. So, Qu Bo made up his mind to write down the appealing stories of his comrades.

    Now, in terms of myself. I was brought up during the environment of the typical education system of 70's China. Although I know now that some of the education I was told wasn't so complete and object. But, those type of heroes and ways of thinking and logic had entrenched into my brain. Only with those memory and those brave story could represent of myself. That is me.

    Fight with the "snow" and "wood", move toward the final success...

Spirit of Concentrate Working

As I still stuck on the 510 electronics's experiment this morning, I asked for help from Paul. He came to the lab around 4:30pm and did some calculation and estimation about my circuit. After trial and error, it began to work at 7:00pm. Then I said that I would like to treat him for dinner. To my surprise, he told me that all he asked is one thing: please let me has some spirit of getting the work done before go to dinner. Since the equipment was working, why not finish this round of data taking? I shocked at one moment then kept on.
   
After a while, I finished the data taking and decided to leave. He came by and asked me is those data make sense. Only a simple check proved those numbers wrong! Another half hours passed, I finally got the reasonable data.

I really appreciate his help and admire his spirit of working.
