During the last two days, I managed to do the two major things. One is recovered the files lost last time. Another one is to install the fedora core 3 on the laptop with wireless connection. For the first thing, I didn't expect I could do that. After I told my friends what I have done wrong with the sub hard disk, they told me immediately that there are some software that can do the job of recovery. After trial and error, I finally get my data back! Then I burned them on the CD-R at once.

Before doing the second thing, I backed up the windows system first. In addition, I tested the rescue DVD created by Access IBM. After all those done, I started the jonery with FC3.

However, the beginning is not very smooth at all. I tried to install from the hard disk, but they couldn't. After

thinking for a while, I figured out that the only problem might be the location of the image file. So, I deleted all the other files except the four image files. Then it worked.

In order to prevent future boring, I installed everything. It took about one hours to complete. Then a problem arouse again. I couldn't mount the fat32 disk which I want to use it as a common ground for both windows and Linux. Following the troubleshooting procedure listed on the website, I was surprised to know that I can't find the command 'fdisk' on the terminal even after I 'su'ed. If I didn't installed everything, I would suspect that I have missed some parts. But, I did have everyone installed. So, I tried to log in as root. Then it worked!

Following the instructions by Eric Raymond's webpage, I finally connected through my 802.11b/g!
